Look at the Lord's Doing!

Dear Friends,

God is so good! He has been doing great things and we bear witness to the wonders of the Lord! We have just finished a great Women's Day celebration. We heard from great women of God, The Reverend Renece Weathersby, First Lady Cassandra Kidd of True Light Church Baptist, Sister Renita Walker, and so many others blessed us.

I know that My Redeemer Lives!

We had a full day at Christ "T", our Morning Worship was led by our women, Women's Day was chaired by our own First Lady Minnie Doss. She did a great job pulling all of the pieces together to make the 44th Annual Women's Day a great success. This month the First Lady is teaching Bible Class on Tuesday evenings around the theme of Jewels in a Crown. It has been a fascinating study. You are welcome to join us at 7:30pm.

Sunday night we hosted the broadcast of Destiny Worship Center's Prayer for Youth. It was a powerful service with more than 250 youth in the church having had hands laid on them and being prayed for. Pastor DeAndre Patterson led the prayer.

This month we are beginning preparation for our Revival in September. Our Ministers have laid out a powerful plan to fast and pray for a revival in our Church, our Community, our Nation, and throughout the world. We are believing that God is able to break down walls that divide us, and that true Saint will confess our sins, humble ourselves and seek the face of the Lord! Our Evangelist is Pastor Casey January of God's Tabernacle of Praise! I will write more at a later date, but put Sunday through Tuesday, September 27th-29th on your calendar to join us for a great revival!

I love you and there is NOTHING you can do about it!

Praise the Lord!

Prayer Still Changes Us

Dear Friend,

I greet you in the name of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit! I have been pondering the power of prayer to change us. it is often said that "prayer changes things", but I believe that real prayer changes us!

When we pray, we are seeking the will of God! When we pray, we are asking for God's guidance! When we pray, we are submitting our will to the desire of the Lord to lead us.

God is able to take our prayer and open us to a new revelation. It is interesting to experience how God helps us see things, when we pray, as He does. Those who we see as enemies, are seen as those who are not opposing us, but are being used to try to affect us. When we seek those who oppose us in that light we no longer act bitterly towards the person, but we find a place n our hearts to pray for them.

God, Himself, takes on the anger, hatred, and bitterness to relieve us from the burden or carrying it. We are freed to reflect the love of God, because we are directed to.

So, when we pray, let us ask God to change us to see what He sees, and help to act and speak as He desires His Dear Children to act!

Prayer Still Changes Us!

Try it!

The Honor is Theirs

Dear Reader,

This is the week in which we will honor those who laid a path for our Church. We are honoring our Organizers, The Late Reverend Milton R. Brunson to the original forty-three members who made Christ "T." Will be expressing our gratitude at the Drury Lane along with a host of family and friends.

Many have gone home to be with the Lord, but to those who are left, we seek to let them know we are proud of what they went through to bring forth what God put in their spirit!

It promises to be a great time in music, testimonies, and preaching! I hope you are planning to attend. If not, you will need to wait until my next blog to find out what you missed. Smile.

God has begun to add to our number and we are excited. Our Prayer Ministry Team has been going out in the Austin Community to ask people if we can pray for them. The response has been powerful and very receptive. With all of the financial issues, the killings in the Chicagoland area, the lack of seriousness about witnessing to others it is even more important for us to go out and tell the World that Jesus is the Answer! It does not matter what the questions are!

I invite you to join us in prayer and to join us in Worship. Come on by and see what the Lord is doing!

Until next time!

Pastor Doss

When is the Last TIme?

I was wondering today, when is the last time?

You might be wondering "the last time what?"

Well let's see:

When is the last time you took time to listen to the Holy Spirit's leading?

When is the last time you spoke a kind word to someone you disagreed with and meant it because you know it is just right?

When is the last time you shared Jesus Christ with some or shared your own personal testimony of the joy of your salvation?

When is the last time you stopped to pray for someone who crossed your mind?

When is the last time you were certain you did the will of God?

When is the last time you volunteered in your place of Worship to assist in Ministry?

When is the last time you had an insignificant reason for missing Worship?

When is the last time you studied the Word and prayed?

When is the last time you said you were sorry, when you know you were wrong?

When was the last time you apologized even though you were right?

just wondering when was the last time you.....?

Every Once in a While

As I reflect on the importance of the Christian Community to walk in the Word of God, every once in a while, I wonder whether we truly trust God. Is it only when God is blessing us that we are excited? Is it only when things are good that we are willing to offer to God the praise He is due?

Every once in a while, I think we should just stop, reflect on as many good things God has done for us so that we do not get into the bad habit of forgetting to lavish praise on the Lord, and to be a blessing to others. The Bible says that we should bless and not curse those who despitefully use us or hurt us, bless and not curse. Sometimes in our humanness we want to avenge our hurt, but the Bible says that it is God who will avenge His children. It is our job to walk with God and obey every command, not just those that are easy for us.

Every once in a while, I wonder whether we reflect on our own actions in light of Jesus Christ, not in light of our feelings, or our own beliefs. God's Word is the "lamp unto my feet." I hope that on this day we allow our lives to reflect the walk with God that reflects the light of God in our every word and action.

Every Once in a While....Reflect....

Why Pray?

When troubles come in our lives we are challenged to pray. When things are going well we may be less inclined to pray. The Apostle Paul said that we should always pray. This meant that we should be in a mindset of communicating with God at all times.

Stresses come in our lives daily, but the Believer knows through experience, that trouble don't last always! To that I say Praise the Lord! Pray is a gateway to God that allows the Lord to speak to us, and for place for us to LISTEN to God direct us. Far to many times we fail to listen to God, and simply take time to tell God what we want or need. I believe that God is trying to communicate with us regularly, but we are moving so fast, so often that we assume the will of God without waiting to hear from God.

Why Pray? The reason to pray is to become God-directed, and not self-directed. God wants to lead our lives not take orders from us. Soon, Thursday, May 7th we will be hosting the National Day of Prayer. Our nation is in need of our prayers, our President is in need of our prayers, Our Communities are in need of prayer, I am in need of your prayers. In order for the Church to be all Jesus desired her to be, Believers must lift one another up in prayer.

I believe in prayer and to that end I stand in support of people who pray. There are prayer warriors out hear it is time to put on the battle gear and start challenging the demonic forces that are seeking to undermine Ministries and the Church. If you do not like something pray for the Lord to show you whether He is doing something you are not seeing. Do not speak against that that you may not be able to see where God is taking you.

Remember prayer not only changes things, mostly prayer changes us!

What A Time, What An Anniversary Celebration

Praise the Lord!

If you were not with us for our 45th Church Anniversary, you missed a great time for the beginning to th end!

We were joined in Worship by a great Man of God, Pastor Matthew Miller of Rising Sun MB Church. He preached, Lord did he Preach! I thank God for Pastor Miller and his heart! Both he and Rising Sun are beautiful people!

Then in the afternoon, we were joined in Worship by Pastor George W. Daniels and First Baptist Congregational Church. He preached a great and challenging message to encourage our church to Walk Righteously before the Lord!

We are now in the midst of planning for a great event, even an historic event, our Legacy Banquet in which we plan to honor God and encourage those who helped organize Christ Tabernacle. Pastor Clay Evans and The Thompson Community Singers will be ministering at the Drury Lane in Oak Brook Terrace. We are expecting you to join us.

You can purchase your tickets to the Legacy Banquet at our website www.christtabernaclembchurch.org. I am prayerful that you and your friends will join us!

Oh what a time, what a time we will have!

See you soon I pray!

In Christ,

Pastor Doss

Good Friday & Easter Sunday!

Dear Reader,

As I reflect on Good Friday 2009, I am reminded of what my sin cost God! I came to realize that God loves me, and you by the way, so much that His Son, Jesus endured hate, torture, humiliation, and scorn to open a door back to God the Father!

I love Jesus not just for Calvary, but because I was not deserving of such sacrifice, BUT GOD!

But God thought differently, and I owe God everything. It is through our trials that a Christian learns, or should learn, the true love of God! I participated in or visited three funerals this week. Some were fully immersed in the life of their church or Ministry, and some were not. Some believed that they could not do enough to show God how thankful they were for His saving Grace.

A commitment to Christ and Christ's Church is not something you can make a person become, it is only something we can pray to God people begin to get. We know of people who believe that all they need to do is show up at church some times, but God has called each Believer to more! There is a world dying out there, and the people of God are some times arguing over meaningless selfish stuff. Families are breaking up our going through problems, and yet they will not seek Christ! Children are going there own way, away from God, and they Church seems more intent on holding onto that which does not truly matter to Christ!

But Good Friday, tells me all I need to know about what is most important in this life! It tells me that God is more interested in the heart of humanity, and not the function of humanity! Function is important for maintaining important things, but God showed us on the Cross on Good Friday, that we should look beyond our own selfish stuff, and open our hearts to Jesus in a new way!

God is still watching, God is still loving, and God is still looking for us to rise up and demonstrate to the world the love of Christ! Would you join me in demonstrating God's love no matter how people treat you! That is truly What Jesus Would Do! (WWJD)

Has a blessed Resurrection Day!

We will during our Sunrise Service and or 11:00Am Worship Service!

In Christ

Awakening With Praise

This morning I awakened with praise of the Lord on my lips, in my heart, and on my mind. It is truly a blessing to realize that God is still in the blessing business. With all of the death and destruction that is happening, there is hope in Jesus Christ!

We are still Praying and Fasting to hear God and to lift up our Community. We have established 8 members who have made a covenant to fast and pray for a variety of issues happening in our time. I am truly grateful for each of them undertaking this great task. Our Church has been asked to join us every Thursday also. We invite you to join us in praying and fasting to hear from God, to help others break through their addictions to drugs, pornography, adultery, fornication, and other ungodly situations.

I have witnessed marriages breaking up, because Satan has invaded marriages. He has come in and made himself at home, because husbands are not standing on the Word of God, or wives are unwilling to submit themselves to Biblical authority. Ephesians 5 tells us that husbands are to love their wives as Christ loved the Church. The world tells husbands that they can do whatever they want, and many choose not to learn God's Word. Wives on the other hand, are to respect their husbands. this was not a request but what the Word says. the world tells women to follow a man is somehow something that is demeaning, but God never intended for a woman to be demeaned, but to trust Him!

We are fasting for break throughs in our families! Won't you join us?

Bless you today!

This is a day that the Lord has made! I rejoice today!

Last night, February 25th, we held our Ash Wednesday Service, and had a Seder Service demonstration by Brother Eugene Lempert of Chosen People Ministries. It was a fantastic demonstration, and provoked a deeper understanding of the celebration of Communion,

We are excited at Christ "T" as we have been watching the Lord do incredible things, in the way of healing, reconciliation, and the move of the Holy Spirit!

This year we have chosen the theme: We are Praying to Connect, Fasting to Break through, Committed to Christ! Daniel 9:3.

Our Commitment to Prayer, Fasting and to Christ are being felt throughout our Congregation!

I hope you enjoy reading this attempt to begin blogging!

Praise the Lord!
