Why Pray?

When troubles come in our lives we are challenged to pray. When things are going well we may be less inclined to pray. The Apostle Paul said that we should always pray. This meant that we should be in a mindset of communicating with God at all times.

Stresses come in our lives daily, but the Believer knows through experience, that trouble don't last always! To that I say Praise the Lord! Pray is a gateway to God that allows the Lord to speak to us, and for place for us to LISTEN to God direct us. Far to many times we fail to listen to God, and simply take time to tell God what we want or need. I believe that God is trying to communicate with us regularly, but we are moving so fast, so often that we assume the will of God without waiting to hear from God.

Why Pray? The reason to pray is to become God-directed, and not self-directed. God wants to lead our lives not take orders from us. Soon, Thursday, May 7th we will be hosting the National Day of Prayer. Our nation is in need of our prayers, our President is in need of our prayers, Our Communities are in need of prayer, I am in need of your prayers. In order for the Church to be all Jesus desired her to be, Believers must lift one another up in prayer.

I believe in prayer and to that end I stand in support of people who pray. There are prayer warriors out hear it is time to put on the battle gear and start challenging the demonic forces that are seeking to undermine Ministries and the Church. If you do not like something pray for the Lord to show you whether He is doing something you are not seeing. Do not speak against that that you may not be able to see where God is taking you.

Remember prayer not only changes things, mostly prayer changes us!

What A Time, What An Anniversary Celebration

Praise the Lord!

If you were not with us for our 45th Church Anniversary, you missed a great time for the beginning to th end!

We were joined in Worship by a great Man of God, Pastor Matthew Miller of Rising Sun MB Church. He preached, Lord did he Preach! I thank God for Pastor Miller and his heart! Both he and Rising Sun are beautiful people!

Then in the afternoon, we were joined in Worship by Pastor George W. Daniels and First Baptist Congregational Church. He preached a great and challenging message to encourage our church to Walk Righteously before the Lord!

We are now in the midst of planning for a great event, even an historic event, our Legacy Banquet in which we plan to honor God and encourage those who helped organize Christ Tabernacle. Pastor Clay Evans and The Thompson Community Singers will be ministering at the Drury Lane in Oak Brook Terrace. We are expecting you to join us.

You can purchase your tickets to the Legacy Banquet at our website www.christtabernaclembchurch.org. I am prayerful that you and your friends will join us!

Oh what a time, what a time we will have!

See you soon I pray!

In Christ,

Good Friday & Easter Sunday!

Dear Reader,

As I reflect on Good Friday 2009, I am reminded of what my sin cost God! I came to realize that God loves me, and you by the way, so much that His Son, Jesus endured hate, torture, humiliation, and scorn to open a door back to God the Father!

I love Jesus not just for Calvary, but because I was not deserving of such sacrifice, BUT GOD!

But God thought differently, and I owe God everything. It is through our trials that a Christian learns, or should learn, the true love of God! I participated in or visited three funerals this week. Some were fully immersed in the life of their church or Ministry, and some were not. Some believed that they could not do enough to show God how thankful they were for His saving Grace.

A commitment to Christ and Christ's Church is not something you can make a person become, it is only something we can pray to God people begin to get. We know of people who believe that all they need to do is show up at church some times, but God has called each Believer to more! There is a world dying out there, and the people of God are some times arguing over meaningless selfish stuff. Families are breaking up our going through problems, and yet they will not seek Christ! Children are going there own way, away from God, and they Church seems more intent on holding onto that which does not truly matter to Christ!

But Good Friday, tells me all I need to know about what is most important in this life! It tells me that God is more interested in the heart of humanity, and not the function of humanity! Function is important for maintaining important things, but God showed us on the Cross on Good Friday, that we should look beyond our own selfish stuff, and open our hearts to Jesus in a new way!

God is still watching, God is still loving, and God is still looking for us to rise up and demonstrate to the world the love of Christ! Would you join me in demonstrating God's love no matter how people treat you! That is truly What Jesus Would Do! (WWJD)

Has a blessed Resurrection Day!

We will during our Sunrise Service and or 11:00Am Worship Service!

In Christ
